ning_susanOn 2 December 2016, the US Federal Communications Commission (the “FCC”) released new rules on Protecting the Privacy of Customers of Broadband and Other Telecommunications Services (the “New Rules”) to regulate Broadband Internet Access Service (“BIAS”) providers and other telecom carriers in their protection of customer information and privacy. The New Rules took effect on 3 January 2017, except for a limited number of provisions subject to approval from the Office of Management and Budget.
