China’s variation margin (“VM”) requirement will come into effect on 1 September 2026 – less than nine months away.
A critical step in complying with the VM requirement under China’s Uncleared Margin Rules (“China UMR”) is for in-scope financial institutions to enter into VM documents with their counterparties.
