ESG investing is a form of investment strategy that considers and integrates environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into the investment decision-making process.  The term ”environmental” often deals with issues such as climate change and renewable energy, while “social” often covers how a company manages its relationships with various constituencies such as employees, customers, suppliers and the communities they operate in, and “governance” often includes corporate governance issues such as board of directors, executive pay and shareholder rights.
